Yao Yang Group: Watching Electrochemistry in Action
Operando Electrochemistry at Energy Material Interfaces

Mission Statement:
The Yang group focuses on developing operando electrochemical liquid-cell scanning transmission electron microscopy (EC-STEM) and correlative synchrotron based X-ray methods to probe electrochemical dynamics of energy materials at solid-liquid interfaces across multiple spatiotemporal scales.
We are "movie makers" and "indoor photographers". The joy and passion of our group lie in capturing real-time “movies” of electrochemical dynamics of energy materials i.e. “watching chemistry in action”.
We are an interdisciplinary group where we bridge the knowledge among electrochemistry, solid-state energy materials and advanced characterizations.
